  • Mission Statement

It’s interesting, the longer I do this the bigger my goals are for what I want my music to do, and at the same time, the smaller they become.  I guess as I get older, and hopefully mature a bit, I have a different view and see how giant the problems that face mankind really are.  At the same time, I live day to day in a small world of family and friends where my wife and kids need a Dad to be present in the simple things.  So, I see my music like ‘loaves and fishes.’ I give what I have to God and trust that He will multiply it to get it to the people that need it. When I put my head on my pillow at night and all the thoughts of the day wash over me, there is so much I’m unsure about, so many choices and decisions and mistakes. But in my heart of hearts, that place where feelings and thinking collide, I believe this is what God has called me to do: To write and record songs that make Him known, and then travel and sing those songs, using the platform that they create to be the voice of those searching for faith and finding hope.

  • How the band got it’s name

Thinking back to younger days, I remember when we were children. We’d play a lot, fool around a lot, and once in a while we’d get in trouble. Often when we did my mom would call out my name, mostly she would call me out by simply saying “Raymond”. But when most parents REALLY MEAN BUSINESS, they tend to call you out by using your middle name. So whenever I heard my mom say “Raymond Lee!!!” That usually wasn’t good. In essence it was my wake-up call, notifying me that something wasn’t right, something was wrong, and it needed changing. Not too long ago I started thinking how all of us, no matter how old we are, whether we’ve been Christians a long time or not, we all need those wake up calls. Every now and then our Heavenly Father who is watching over us, protecting us, and guiding us, sees us getting off track, and needs to give us a wake-up call to come back to Him, keeping us on the right track. As a group “The Raymond Lee Band” feels compelled to carry on that calling, letting the whole world know that The Father loves us, cares for us, and desires for us not to stray away, but hear him and follow his voice.
